Matt has been producing and recording music from an early age. Possessed of a keen melodic ear he has played and recorded with countless musicians over many years. During the 90s he recorded several influential Scottish bands and produced local talent for Fresh Air FM whilst studying at the School of Popular Music and Technology in Edinburgh.

After concentrating on establishing himself as a sought-after post-production engineer for ten years in London, he is now enjoying a long-overdue return to music production. In April/May 2010 he completed mixing duties on traditional Scottish musicians Catriona McKay & Chris Stout’s first collaborative recording in five years: the critically acclaimed ‘White Nights’. Matt also recently recorded a successful collaboration between Catriona & Chris’ Shetland collective, Fiddlers’ Bid, and Japanese psych-folk group Humbert Humbert.

Matt has his own Logic/Pro Tools/SSL-based mixing facilities, and can offer competitive unattended mixing packages fully inclusive of any necessary recall sessions.

Of course, Matt also provides on-site freelance engineering services, and is fully conversant in Logic, Pro Tools and Pyramix, offering in addition his extensive experience of large format analogue and digital mixing consoles and outboard processing.
