Matt has mixed hundreds of hours of broadcast programming on SSL Avant, SSL C300, and Soundtracs DS-series desks. He is at home mixing on a wide variety of large format mixing consoles including analogue and digital desks by SSL, Neve, Euphonix, Amek, Digidesign and Yamaha, and has extensive experience tracking, editing and mixing within Pro Tools HD, Mix & LE (including ICON), Merging Pyramix, SSL Soundscape & Apple Logic Pro, both in stereo and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround.

In addition, Matt is highly skilled in the creative application of audio plug-ins and outboard processing, regularly employing Waves, Sonnox, Cedar, Lexicon, TC Electronic, Dolby, Neve, Akai & Eventide signal processing to maximum effect, and is adept in the operation of a wide variety of synchronisation hardware including Timeline’s Microlynx and Colin Broad’s CB-5.

As befits his experience, Matt has an exhaustive knowledge of current broadcast delivery specifications, formats and associated hardware, including Sony Digibeta & HD SR digital videotape recorders, Tascam DA88/98 multitrack machines, Dolby E and Pro-Logic hardware encoders/decoders, and Dolby’s LM100 loudness analyser.

In addition to his audio work, Matt also maintains a thorough operational knowledge of Avid’s picture editing systems and is able to carry out sound preparation and tracklay, as well as online picture finishing to the latest HD broadcast standards.
